New iPhone App for Camaro!

Hello All,

So after hearing that Onstar is making an app for our Camaro, I have been searching in the app store everyday for the app. Today, my search resulted in something! Don't get excited ladies and gentlemen, because the actual Onstar MyLink is still not available for download. However, there is a new app called MyChevrolet, with the Onstar MyLink logo in the app. Everyone with an iPhone should check it out!! The app also has roadside assistance, parking reminder and some other cool stuff.

supposedly end of the month (30th)...but I've seen soooo many "much anticipated" apps get pushed back and back and back too often!

So we'll just have to wait and see...

Did you guys download and try that MyChevrolet app yet though? I think that's what the Onstar MyLink app is going to stem from .

I downloaded it yesterday. It's an ok app. It has a very brief owners manual and let's you look up indicator lights to see what they might mean. It also can track where you've parked so you don't have to worry about getting lost in a parking lot.

For 2010 MyChevrolet doesn't load Owner's Manual (not a problem as already have it as a pdf in iBooks). As expected OnStar MyLink doesn't support the 2010's Gen 8 Onstar module, only the 2011's Gen 9 module.

Scotty - anyone consider the ability to buy the Gen 9 module as an upgrade for the 2010 or is there more to it than swapping out the 8 for 9 ? Also - slightly different question -- any discussion on swapping the 2010 OnStar rear view mirror for the 2011's which is shorter than 2010s? Would it be compatible? I know the delta is probably about 1/8-1/4 inch between the two but some including me will consider....

Just downloaded both apps and the mychevy app is ok but the onstar app is way cool. I can lock and unlock the car from anywhere! And it tells me how much gas is left and the current tire pressure and a lot more. It's really kinda cool, but I am sure the novelty will wear off quick. But I think it is a very useful app.

Can you pull a Knight Rider with it and have your car pick you up or get you out of difficult situations?

I like the parking spot locator function in the my chevy. I can see using it frequently in the couple of months. I also like that you can schedule the service calls. Eventually I hope only need my computer for gaming.
