Can a bent rim cause my ss to shake? :(

Hello guys I really hope this the correct place to post this.....I'm currently running 22 inch foose speed staggered wheels on my 2010 camaro ss.

Little back story.....

I sold my stock 20's, because I had the foose wheels just sitting there. I bought the wheels + tires a while back whenever I had a v6 ( I bought the rims + tires for a really good price.) I did not have any problems while the wheels were on my v6 auto, but now that I have them on my ss manual the car tends to shake at around 50+ mph. I took it to 2 different dealerships ....they both kept my car for about 1 to 2 days. All they could come up with is ......" we noticed the shaking, but we believe it is your bent rim that is causing the car to shake at those speeds.

I'm in the process of getting rid of my warranty, because in A few weeks I'm getting a cam, headers, and tune.

My question is..... Do some of you guys have a bent rim that is causing this problem?

Absolutely. Just out of balance will make it shake.

And secondly, your warranty has nothing to do with aftermarket wheels.

The reason why I mention my warranty is because I'm planing on adding headers, cam, and tune. I know it has nothing to do with the aftermarket wheels. I just want to fix the bent rim and if that doesn't fix the shaking then I'll take it to the dealer before messing with the warranty. Thx for your help.

N everyone else....... Thx I will take care of the bent rim.

I mean did you curb the rim at some point while you had them on your V6?

Yes I did..... But it didn't shake at all.

Now on my ss the car shakes.... I turn to my passenger seat n I can literarily see it shaking lol

My brake pedal starts to hit my foot. (Imagine My foot is just on top of the break pedal without touching it.....n the pedal just keeps hitting it going at 50+mph)

Thats really bad for your wheel bearings. If you can feel it that much you need to get it looked at and replaced asap.

Rotate the wheels from front to back (if possible) or from side to side to see if the shake changes/moves.

I've had a bent rim on a car before and yes sir it shakes, 90 % probability that's your problem, other things you can check are balance and tire wear, but my money would be on the bent rim.
