Wavy Rear Fender Defect?

I’ve had my car for almost two weeks and I just noticed an odd defect on both rear wheel wells. On the body at the point where the body meets the bumper I noticed waviness in the metal. It is very subtle but definitely there.

During my first oil change today, I pointed this out to the dealer, but they said there was not much they could do unless they re-worked the panel.

I’m not so bothered at this point because it’s just not that noticeable but I do wonder how common this may be.

I'll try to post pics later.

Post us some pics from from and back. We need a few angles to evaluate the problem.

On this forum or with Chevy?

Not a very good peice of advice with the dealer if the problem has merit. If it's the forum you're talking about I would have to agree.

Pictures would be a good thing though.

Walking out to look at mine now.

I'm sorry, but I'm not seeing what you are describing. There is a subtle horizontal feature line just above the joint between the rear FASCIA (not bumper) and the rear quarter panel.

Everything I'm seeing in your photo looks about what I'd expect to see.

CHEESE AND RICE...
talk about optical illusions.....
I would suggest...
If you really wanna try and show this....get rid of all the reflections....do this inside with lighting and a different colored background...

Then once you get the picture....use an editing software....to draw an arrow or..... circle the highlighted area that you notice this wave at...

I can see it.

When mine comes in I'm going to look as mine is black and should be really distinct.

Yours does have subtle changes. It's more noticable in the 2nd pic. Really doesn't look bad though.

CHEESY PIZZA Dudes Take it easy - I said it was SUBTLE - If you have a Camaro just check it. Like I said, I'm not bothered. I'm just curious.

Only thing I see possibly is on the bumper. appears to not have a continuous even flow. But probably just an illusion. Looks like you're ok.

That's what I saw too....but my guess is....you would have to be there in person to actually tell for real.

Looks alright...but if it's something that will be bugging you every time "you" wash and wax, detail it...talk to your dealer about it....
