PDIM Upgraded today...

I went to my dealership and had them to do the upgrade today. When I walked in, they weren't familiar with the upgrade, but after about 5 min of research, they were ready to go.

After some of the stories I'd heard in here, I was kinda expecting it to take days or more for them to figure out what I was talking about. The mechanics seemed very helpful. No problems with it so far

I've been trying to get my dealer to update mine but they cant find any info on it. Can you get the specifics on the update from you dealer? It might be on your paperwork.

Mine was simply an upgrade from CC to CE on the 2SS.

They didn't really give me any paperwork or anything like that, so I don't know. At first, the mechanic wondered if it was the same upgrade as is being installed on the Equinox....so that's where he started his search. He then realized it was a different upgrade.

The dealership I used, and I highly recommend them, is http://www.thoroughbredchevrolet.com/

Maybe you could have your dealership contact their service department (which might be better than 100 people contacting them tomorrow because I put their link on the internet....which would probably upset them lol).

I found the following from another thread...might this help you?

Quote:
Requires Dealer Re-Programming of the Audio System via Service Programming System (SPS-TIS2WEB or equivalent).

Well a week or so has passed since doing the upgrade and, yes, it's snappier now. *All* of the problems I experienced before (locking up, sometimes not recognizing ipod or thumb drive, not recognizing all the mp3 tracks, and more) seem to have been resolved by this simple upgrade. If you haven't upgraded, I would highly recommend it.

#PI0055: Radio Display May Be Missing Data When Using USB-Noise, Static-iPod, USB or UMS Operation Intermittent, Inoperative at Start Up or During Playback (Reprogram MPIM) - (Mar 5, 2010)

Subject:Radio Display May Be Missing Data When Using Universal Serial Bus (USB) -- Noise, Static, Source Management Difficulties -- iPod, USB or UMS Operation Intermittent or Inoperative at Start Up or During Playback (Reprogram Multimedia Player Interface Module (MPIM))
Models:2010 Buick LaCrosse
2010 Cadillac SRX
2010 Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox
2010 GMC Terrain
Equipped With Audio Interface RPO KTA, Audio Interface-Wireless RPO KTB or Accessory Interface Module
Attention:
This control module may be referred to as a multimedia player interface module (MPIM) or a preferred device interface module (PDIM) or a PDIM multimedia player interface module.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptoms described in this PI.
Condition/Concern

Some customers may comment on any of the following conditions:

• Blank lines in the song list display
• Incomplete MP3 data that may result in wrong information being displayed
• Poor iPod or universal mass storage (UMS) performance at start up and potential lack of audio during playback
• Source management difficulties when using more than one Bluetooth device
• Intermittent device operation from one ignition cycle to the next
• Poor static message translations when using French or Spanish as the default language instead of English
• Intermittent clicking, static or audio distortion during iPod or UMS audio playback
• At ignition ON, the previous radio source, such as AM, FM or XM, returns to the USB input rather than the previous radio source selection
These conditions may be caused by a software anomaly.
Recommendation / Instructions

Important: Do not replace the multimedia player interface module (MPIM) for this condition.

  • Note: On TIS2WEB the revised calibration for this reprogramming may be referred to as PDIM Multimedia Player Interface Module - Programming.
  1. Reprogram the MPIM using the latest calibration available on TIS2WEB. Refer to the Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI.
1.1. During programming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12-15 volts. Only use the approved Midtronics® PSC 550 Battery Maintainer (SPS Programming Support Tool EL-49642) or equivalent during programming.
1.2. When using a multiple diagnostic interface (MDI) for reprogramming, ensure that it is updated with the latest software version.

  1. After successfully reprogramming the MPIM, ensure that any necessary post-programming procedures are performed. For the appropriate control module programming and setup document and the required procedures, refer to Multimedia Player Interface Module Programming and Setup and Control Module References in SI.
  • Warranty Information

For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:

    Labor Operation Description Labor Time
R9780* Multimedia Player Interface Module - Reprogramming with SPS 0.4 hr
*This is a unique labor operation for PI use only. It will not be published in the Labor Time Guide.

I've had mine reprogrammed for months now and have had zero problems with ipod. I'm only having problems with bluetooth phone ops, but believe its the cell phone- not the car.

I also thought you had to tell the dealer you were "Having Problems" in order to get this done. It may help if you just tell them your ipod is acting up.
