Can't get a good 2nd gear scratch - Normal?

So,
After seeing the Edmunds test, I have tried multiple times to get a good 2nd gear scratch.
All I get is a quick chirp.
Is this normal?

I have tried the Fuse pull, etc, but still no joy.

Anyway, I have dumped it at 4K RPM and spin great in First, I then try to shift as quick as I can into second and only get a brief noise.
I have even tried getting up to about 30MPH, then revving with the clutch in and dumping in 2nd and still only get a small scratch.

I don't plan to do this often, but it seems like I read about guys on this site that are getting lots of spin in 2nd and wanted to know if my car might be underperforming.

I spin more in 2nd than my 2001 vette does in 1st, especially if I turn the traction control off. At about 2,200 the torque just smokes em in 1st or 2nd.
Maybe you should install a TVS 2300 MagnaCharger, it seems to help!

Really it does make a bit of a difference!

I am thinking about the SC, but I think I will wait a year or two. (My wife already thinks I am buying too many accessories for the new car).

Anyway, I am more wondering if this is normal with a stock 2SS M6.

Thanks

In the Edmunds video, they were dumping the clutch at the starting line against the rev limiter (not something I'd ever do with my own car...good way to break something), and then shifting a little early so the tires were still spinning when they hit second. If the tires stop spinning before you're able to get the clutch out in 2nd, you're burnout is basically done.

Not sure that is true. In the video I think they had about 8ft in between the 1st and 2nd tire marks where the tires were not spinning.

I have tried to duplicate the results a few times, shifting early etc and have not been able to.

Completly turn traction off, and its a whole different car. It will really try and spin around with too much throttle.

No problem on my SS. 20ft scratch in 1st and about 25ft in second. And that was before the 3.91 rear end.
