Fuel Economy V6 L/100 km

Hello c5ers, just wondering what your fuel economy is for the v6? Right now, I am at 15.2 L/100 km and my average speed is about 32 km/hr (short drive, stop and go all the way).

15.2 L/100 km

average speed: 32km/hr

most of the time drive fairly conservatively

At 1400 km, my gas mileage reads 10.2 L/100km. Avg. speed is 68km/hr. I know it'll improve as time goes on and excited to see what it will really be.
I run mainly highway with only 2 stoplights on the route.
My '08 Impala SS was an avg. of 8.8L/100km and my '99 Grand Prix GTP was 8.7L/100km with Premium fuel. Both were relatively close to the advertised gas mileage and really not too bad considering the size of the car.
Everyone comments on me being impulsive on buying another new car and I justify it to say I bought the Camaro to save on fuel.

I noticed the SS numbers and the v6 numbers are very close. At an avg speed of 32km. My car now is averaging 14L/100km. It averages 10.1 on the highway at 120km which is what i think most of the SS guys were getting. I think youd have ot be going 100km to get even near the 6.8L/100km as it says.
Sonya, not surprised how your Impala SS was getting 8.8L
Maybe our cars need to get broken in better. I just got my oil changed so lets see if it improves anymore. at 4000k now
I noticed that when i drove the car harder, i got better gas mialge. DOnt understand how that worked out but its true. I was keeping the shifts under 2200rpm and was getting 16L/100km, now i drive it hard and the rpm goes all over the place and my gas milage improved doing the same driving...wierd

Coming back from Oshawa from our Meet & Greet I was getting 8.6 - 8.8 That's 800KM to the tank and the SS was getting 10lt/100 at cruising speed 118-120 Kph. And for city driving I'm getting 10.7 (Just checked after 350 km of driving since Oshawa)(Normally I get around 12-13...)

Thanks for the comparison numbers, C5ers.

The number I calculated based on my fill up just today was about 15.1 km/L while the computer showed 15.4 km/L, so I am in that ball park range. My trip is short so I figure that may be the reason why my car is so poor compared to others here. In comparison to my previous vehicle, the fuel economy is almost identical (it was a lighter car with a 3L engine but older compared to the Camaro).

If i ever buy a Camaro again again, or any other car, and consider a v6 for gas milage, ill never do it again, im 18 so insurance on an SS is definitly not happening. But after seeing how close my v6 is to the v8 in terms of fuel consumption, im definitly going v8 next time. At most your spending a 5-10 more at a fill up but you got an extra 2 cylinders.
Going home from Kingston, i started aceraging 9.5 which is alot better then before. I think the car needs more break in. at 5k now.
For those who drive mostly city, take your cars out for a long highway cruise. For some reason my car has gotten better with every long sdistance highway trip. Youll see more improvement down the road then doing long city driving...I dont know how to prove it but thats whats been working for my gas guzzler lol
