Need HELP with factory RS HID
So the bulb went out and I picked up a 4300K replacement from Diode Dynamics but it isn't bright enough and doesn't light up the road as far as the factory Osram bulbs, which is understandable because of the lower price. Anyways, I went to the dealership and picked me up an OSRAM for $307. Long story short it would not light up at all. The bulb from DIODEDYNAMICS works perfectly fine! but the OSRAM won't work on the same ballast. I tried it on the passenger side and the OSRAM bulb works fine. If the ballast was dead the diode bulb would not work at all correct? so what the hell is the problem????

Have you checked voltage going to the ballast? I know all they do is push power to the bulb to help ignite it then regulate voltage as needed but I wonder if the ballast is the issue. Is there a difference in brightness from the diode dynamics bulb you purchased if used on the side the osram bulb works?

Wait.. You paid $307 for OEM bulb at the dealer?!! Why? Genuine Philips and Osram bulbs go for $100 online. Sounds like your ballast may be going out.

I haven't checked the voltage of the ballast. the diode bulb is 35w 4300k same as the factory osram. it's weird though because the diode works but the osram doesn't. i also replaced the 20A fuse which turned the osram on but when I tried to turn it on again it failed. and yes diode still turns on lol

Wonder if there's anyway we can swap the hid components out for d2s ballasts and bulbs.
On another note I would get aftermarket bulbs. Some are as good as the OEM bulbs while being cheaper as well
