Our state requires them too. I had one on the front of my Silverado SS and removed it and built me an electric retractable bracket. If I find myself fortunate enough to buy a new Camaro I'll look into building one for it if there is room for one.

That is both coolest and nerdiest thing I have ever seen on a truck.

A lot of the time these brackets are installed right onto the bumper cover putting permanent holes in the front of your new car, that looks to be the case here too. It sure would be nice if it were pre-drilled out of sight holes... but it doesn't look that way. So just make sure it isn't ever installed if your not planning on using it.

Though the above pic doesn't look terrible, I still asked the dealer if he could possibly not install it, and I'll just wait for a warning from cops or something lol. There are a fair number of cars in my town that don't have from plates, including my neighbor's hehe so I will just take my chances.

For folks in Ontario Canada it's required :-( Go here to sign the petition to get rid of it:

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Ont_Front_Plate/

Looks like there has been over 7100 names already. Also brings up some good points other than appearance.... although that's why I singed it. :-)

I just found this in the new Classics Industries Catalog. Maybe you guys in those places requiring a front tag braket could consider one of these
