Turbo cam question

So this maybe a dumb question, I was wondering if I can run a turbo cam with out a turbo kit installed?... Unfortunately I have to work on my car in stages (I don't have all the money up front for everything).... Last question, do you guys know a good place in New Jersey I can get the turbo cam installed...thanks guys

Yes, easily.

That being said, why not just save and put the money towards the turbo? Cam is the last thing that needs to be touched. You can make 1000+ on a stock cam easy enough with a decent turbo kit, and spend the $2000+ on a cam on something like fuel system, clutch, tires, axles that will make the car far better overall than a cam/turbo setup.

I'll do just that then...ill save it for the fuel system or clutch.. I just figured that I can do a cam not only for the performance but the sound as well to hold me over until the turbo kid lol...Thanks

i got my turbo cam from FSP since i knew i'd be going that route eventually and it would be a while before i had the money for the kit. i think all told i spent less than $1200 on cam and fluids, but i did the install myself. i did it for the exact reasons you were considering lol...cammed cars sound great and turn heads. i could've left it like that longer and been happy with it, except matt cut me a good black friday deal on the agp kit

Turbo kit will easily max out fuel system and stock motor, so if money is an issue, turbo+fuel system will make FAR more power and more safety than cam+turbo kit.
