This just gets more and more interesting...thanks Mr. Incredible. I think you may also have something there, but mine simply stopped working all together and I've been within and out of wifi device ranges. Even if I get right on the front windshield. But I don't doubt for a minute what you've experienced.

Mine would do it no matter where I was as well. And it was always the right rear TPMS sensor that would stop reading first, the furthest from the antenna, leading to the conclusion it was something in the module.

Thanks Laura! I spoke with them this morning - I have a great dealership here in Highland, IL. They're ordering a new RKE module today. I suspect we'll be trying it out this week. Will let ya know. Again, I can't thank ya'll enough for the input/diagnostics! lol

Ok, here's the latest. There is no separate RKE module, according to the tech, it's actually a part of the BCM. Maybe its because I have a 2010 and it was a combo of BCM/RKE. However, there is another antenna module for the door release/lock. They're ordering that and we'll see what happens.

Possibly. My car has a separate module, but it is a 2012. But is sounds like the antenna module is the problem anyway, as that would also be the antenna for the TPMS.

Wish me luck...the part is in and I'm taking to the dealer on Monday. What's really irritating me now...it has decided to work the past 2 times I've had it out this week.

Shoot, mine would go 1000 miles between spurts of acting up. I had to start taking pictures of the dash with the mileage and the TPMS light on with my phone because it would start acting right as soon as I headed to the dealer.

any conclusion to this issue? I am having similar issues on my 2012 SS. Key fob sometimes only works right next to the car and the rear right TPMS sensor cuts in and out every so often.
Would appreciate to hear if you were able to find a solution. |

Hey sswiss3000, yes, sorry I never posted the results. They found the remote control door lock receiver was faulty and replaced it. (part# 13503205 / Receiver 10.485) Ironically, you'd think this would have been the 2nd item checked, but guessing it wasn't really known about till they kept digging into it. Now, it has worked fine since, EXCEPT for the other day...it wouldn't work at all. But after opening the doors manually that one time, I've had no problems since. I suspect that part has problems and if it continues to act up, then I'll take it back again. Good luck - let us know if that fixes your issue.

remote lock or keyfobs working intermittently
On my 2011 Camaro, the remote key fobs have recently been working intermittently.
Changed the batteries, nothing. Turned out I had a low pressure TPMS warning on one tire. Once I got that tire up to pressure, the remotes started working again. So before you start messing with the BCM/RKE module or anything else, first make sure your tire pressures are up. Great software design GM! |

Hi everyone making a forum reseach, because seems that my 1st 2010 camaro has the same issue and I am looking to get the solution for it.
So to recap the issue was not the BCU? and the problem was TPMS all 4 of them? And I understand by replacing all 4 everyting was fine? thanks for your kind support |
