First damage to Camaro......

Well I haven't even made the first payment on it yet and on the way to work today. A POS Pontiac Sunfire kicked a rock up off the highway an straight into my windshield. Thank god it missed the hood and didn't do any damage to the paint. There were like 4 car lengths between me and the car in front of me and this still happened. Luckily it was a little star chip and I called a glass repair place immediately and had it fixed on my lunch. It looks better, but now I've still not this ugly little spot in the middle of my windshield. Some insurance companies will cover this kind of stuff, but when I called mine they just said my deductible was $500, and tried to sell me some additional policy. I already have full coverage on the car. I also have my homeowners insurance with them and when I removed the car I traded in from my policy and added my Camaro they charged me a $16 "Policy change fee". Time to unload them and find a better insurance Co. I ended up just paying out of pocket and the repair was only $35 so no biggie. I guess it could have been a lot worse. The chip is not that noticeable now, but it's on the driver's side of the windshield and "I know it's there!"

Sorry to hear that. I have $0 comp deductible on mine so the repairs and windshield, if needed, are free. It isn't that much extra, so that's something you might want to look into.

I got my first windshield rock chip on Saturday, after almost 2 years of having the car. Luckily, my insurance has $0 deductible for "glass only" claims. I'll be getting it fixed this week, after I find out which repair shop the ins. prefers...

Man before I traded it in, the same thing happened to my 2LT. I was driving it like the first week I got it and a rock cracked my windshield. Luckily, you can get one free windshield replacement every year in the state of FL , but I was pretty mad. Sorry to hear about your luck. It seems like things just throw themselves at these cars.

That sucks... I've had my car for nine months, and the only damage I've got is two dings on my hood from a hail storm. They're small, but to me they seem like black holes.

I cant tell you how many times ive seen stuff fly at me. Now i try to never stay behind big trucks or try to follow cars too closely. One hit my roof that made a small chip to metal. Glad it's atleast my daily driver and not a show car.

Sorry about the damage, have had this before. Every time I got in the car I always had to look at it for some reason. I guess I thought it would disappear.

That stinks :( That happened to us in our 69 SS two weekends ago - the rock hit the hood first though and took a 1/4" chunk out of the yellow paint before it starred the windshield. When it happens is first scares the crap out of you then you think CRAP! did that just happen :(
