1500 miles brand spankin new ZL1 and mylink headunit craps out - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

As the title says, brand spankin new ZL1 with just 1500 miles and my headunit craps out. Locks either immediately after startup or locks a few seconds after the car is started, no buttons are functional, cant even turn it off. I have already called the hotline for "infotainment" with GM and I have been told to take it to the dealership.

After performing a forum search I have yet to find anyone who has taken their vehicle to the dealership with this problem and had a real solution? Seems that even replacement headunits and the like are having the same issue. It seemed one guy even had the whole dang car swapped out because of it.

I don't have the time to play games with the dealership especially if there isn't really a fix for this problem..... Anyone here get rid of their camaro touch screen radio and replace it with an aftermarket unit to get rid of the wonky mylink unit? Even before it crashed it was by far one of the worst bluetooth radio's I have used....
