And want to sell it to me? I want one in the worst way but its not on the CA roster and you can only get it through a Private Party Transfer.

I'm sure you already know, CA law requires the magazine disconnect which is not a feature on certain XD's. I believe this is the reason why it's not on CA's roster. CA also requires a 10 round or less magazine and the XDm uses standard capacity magazines. You still can't get around the 10 rd max mag capacity unless you owned before the ban.

Just picked up a Ruger GP100 327 Federal Magnum, quite impressive. I know someone dropped a bear with it, albeit it was a head shot.

Im aware the pistol is not on the roster and the reasons for it, but that does not mean a civilian cant have one

Magazines can be permanately blocked off to only accept 10 rounds, any standard cap mags can be disassembled as rebuild kits at the time of sale

You're right. Still that model in not in CA's roster. And as you know Springfield Armory does not make a 10 rd mag. Someone asked if you can purchase the hangun without a mag, no that won't work, either through a private sale in CA or out of state. I was told the only legal way is to have the handgun "grandfathered" down through certain family members, yet again the mag is still illegal and never was manufactured before the 10 rd ban. Hence the handgun is still illegal. I don't believe you can get around this unless you move out of CA or are LE.

If a LEO purchases this and sells it Private Party he is okay...Also If a Person moving in to CA from Out of state can bring their XDm into the state and register it, provided it isn't an Assualt Weapon (threaded Barrel etc)...Magazines/Clips and a differenct story and can be made to hold 10rnds to make legal for CA

If the magazine is dismantled as a rebuild kit it can be sold with the firearm

Intrafamilial transfer only applies to the handgun, there is no exception to the 10 rnd rule other than LEO/ Active Military or Pre-ban

There are plenty of civilian owners of XDm's all over CA, just check out Calguns.net
