Camaro for a 16 year old
Hey guys, im 16 and 11 months and drove a 2008 Chevy Malibu for 1 and a half year. My parents are thinking of getting a used 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS or a used 2010 Ford Mustang v6 premium for my birthday. Im a safe driver and have never gotten a ticket. The only thing is i have to pay for gas. What you guys think? Is a v6 to much for me?

Not too sure about that, but I got the Inferno orange interior and the lighting is orange. I would assume if you get the silver/black interior the lighting would be white?
Not too sure but any ambient lighting looks real nice ! |

The V6 can be really Jekyll and Hyde. It can be driven easy when you want it to be, and like a beast when you want it to be. With traction control and stabilitrak, it won't be too powerful in the sense that you'll spin out and lose control while driving it. This goes for dry and/or snow-free conditions, of course.
With that being said, the V6 Camaro does have enough power that if you drive it like a jackass, you will pay for it. Especially with your level of driving experience. I remember being 17 and driving a Ford Ranger like it was a Craftsman Truck, not smart. If you can be responsible and obey the laws, you'll be fine and will no doubt enjoy it for years to come. Go to youtube and type in "Camaro ambient lighting." I'm sure something will pop up to help you out. It's sweet. Best of luck to you!!

im 16 too i haven't gotten my license but i got my camaro in September. The ambient lighting is a blue color with the silver trim and it looks so nice at night time. I never knew about it and when i went to go and drive my car at night time i got a huge smile on my face when i saw it for the first time. I know that you will enjoy the car either if it was a mustang or camaro. But i saw go with the camaro

Well you know a majority of the answers you may get will be camaro since you happen to be on a camaro forum, but from reading many responses from other people in different threads I' sure you'll get an honest answer. Personally I wanted a mustang for some time not a newer one but a '64-'73 model same with the maro. To be honest get what makes you feel good to drive. A V6 is plenty unless you're looking for a lot of power which since you're 16 I don't think a V8 would truly be in your best interest. I make it sound like I'm old when I'm only 21 :P I love my 2LT. It's a blast to drive.

Im lookin for mainly looks, handling, and power... according to everyone, THE CAMARO's GOT IT!!! I was thinking of a mustang but in Richmond, VA, the ratio of mustangs to camaro is lik 75:1 lol. Most mustangs being 4th Generation.

Will it handles like your on a rail,Power-304hp.Enough i believe. Get a manual trans. to max. out the fun factor.Biggest problem is you don't want to stop driving it.

If you have a part time job, AND your SCHOOL grades are AT LEAST 2.0, gas should be nothing. UNLESS you cruise all over, which you shouldn't be ABLE to do IF you are doing SCHOOL work and a part time job.
I would go for the Camaro V6 ANYDAY over a Mustang 4.0 V6 200HP junk. Just MY OPINIONS. Last edited by JEFF2010SSMANUAL; 05-17-2010 at 06:59 PM. |
