KC Mechanics

I need to replace my deathtrap with a used car, so it would only make sense to have a trustworthy Camaro5 mechanic give me feedback on anything I buy before I potentially make a purchase. This is increasingly important because I can only afford very inexpensive cars, many of which have significant flaws. To make matters worse, I live in Lawrence and need someone in KC to take a look at a couple of cars before I make the trip up there to buy one of the many used cars in the Kansas City area. It It is for this reason that I need a local mechanic.

Who is in Kansas City that could do me this enormous favor and withhold the desire to buy one of these bargains from my potential sellers?

Well I don't live in KC, but I will have 4 excess hours on my hand next Wednesday while doing some other business.

If you want to PM me your #, I can call you tomorrow and we can discuss the situation?

I do appreciate the help, although I'll be meeting a seller tomorrow after work. I am heavily favoring buying the product, so it may be necessary to get an inspection after the sale. If you have any advice in checking out the car or specific things to investigate in a GM product, let me know. I know enough to push the car a little in the test drive to find out if the engine is overheating or if there are any strange sounds from the engine, but I'd like to know if there's anything else that might raise a red flag on an aging car.
