Just look at the 14's sales and compare them with the 13's and you will see why they changed.

Keep your '14, color match the rear diffuser, tint the tail lights, and wait for the 6th Gen. If you dont like the 6th gen, sell the '14 and find a decently used 10-13. IMO.

You really don't spend much time looking at your tail lights when you drive around. Is it really that bothersome. The 14 tail lights have grown on me. Maybe just give it some time.

Nothing is True
|
I can *partially* understand.
When I got my Rubicon in 2011, there was a screw up and I wound up taking home a Jeep with a half brown interior. I HATE brown. It's a long story that I don't wanna go into, but suffice to say, I just had to suck up the fact that I paid $40+k for an auto that was less than what I was hoping for. It put a sour taste in my mouth and made me really angry at Jeep/Chrysler -- I will never buy new from them again for putting me in an awkward position. I keep the Jeep until it was reasonable to trade for something I loved. Mistakes happen and we're not always pleased. If you don't like the lights, you're never ever going to learn to like them. They're going to stand out to you even though heads are constantly turning with people telling you how much they love your car. It sucks...but that's life, unfortunately. You'll still enjoy it and have a strong sense of pride...but you'll dump it in favor of what you *really* want in 2-3 years. That time will pass very fast. Personally, I love the new lights and I see why they changed them. The lights are reminiscent of the Vette lights....and the lights of several of their other cars. They wanted some branding continuity....and it works. Seeing the new lights actually inspired me to push my Jeep out the door and pick up a 2014. I like the old lights....and I like the new lights. It's team Camaro What's not to like?

Hahaha .... That's where I left the 14's! But seriously trade it in for a 10-13 ! Trust me , you'll be mad at yourself and regretting not just trading it in for a 10-13 that you like without needing to mod, just for you to like it! Because it's just like putting makeup over ugly ! You're forcing yourself to like it! Not worth the payments ! Last edited by Q'smuscle; 08-30-2014 at 09:59 PM. |

here are some pics of the tail lights i cannot remember the name of the forum member that did the treatment to his tail lights and i apologize for not giving them credit, but i loved the treatment they did to the rear so much that i saved the pic they posted as i hope to do the same treatment to my 1LE when i get it, as i like the OP, do not really care for the 14's taillights.
