X-rays at week four scheduled to see if the healing is taking shape.
Hey Brian, yeah take it from me as far as my experience with mine. I think i was 49 at my last break and although mine was a double fracture there is still the healing that needs to happen. Th DR even had me in one of those bone electrical stimulation thingies to promote healing which didn't help. After 6 months of trying to get it to heal, which didn't happen. Then it was time for surgery, so when i say dont use your wing, DONT USE YOUR WING you dont want to go the route i went.

Anyway, I look forward to a new dyno and re-dyno on the same tool before and after this.
Mine was on a mustang dyno normal drive up. I would assume the readings on a dynopak would be more just becuase of how it attaches to the vehicle (correct term is hub)

Check with BBK. JBA says no tune required for their shorties.

Something else to consider is the mid pipe and the connection between shorty headers and the pipe. Everything I'm reading indicates that the connection can be a challenge but the fitment is better when mating the header's collector to the same manufacturer's mid pipe. Having not dealt with this first hand, though, I'm only echoing advice I've read online.

Mine was on a dynopak. Was told to use 15% (÷ by .85) to calculate net hp.

Hi CrystalRedTintCoat,

I just installed my JBA shortys and JBA Hi Flows with a set of Vibrant O2 Sensor extenders, and its a great combination!.. the vibrant O2 extenders will keep the CEL from coming on with codes P0420/P0430. Just use the medium sized inserts. When you are installing the headers, its best to use the OEM gaskets and be sure to check for loose header bolts after a couple of heating cycles. in all, the install will take between 4-6 hours.. :-)

Shorties and Middies

@Ls585u, thanks much. This is good and useful info. Do you suggest new OEM gaskets; I'm assuming so and just ordered a pair.

You can never fault in using new gaskets, but I used my existing gaskets with success!! Another thing is to make sure the spark plug wire located on the drivers side (most aft location) I believe it's cylinder #7... Is clear of contacting the header exhaust tubes before you start up you car.. You will burn the sparkplug wire if it's contacting...

Hope you recover quickly. Take care!!

Shorties and Middies

Update - I'm crossing over to a custom tune after saying to you all that I never would. Doh!

Parts:
- ordered SCT X4 tuner with custom program from JRE (vibrant extender won't be needed per Ten)*
- received vibrant o2 extender
- received AC Delco exhaust gaskets
- talked to Tom at Custom Auto Restoration in Campbell. Still need to call Abel Chevy.
- headers and middies due to arrive tomorrow

*didn't realize there are restrictions to using tuners (eg: warranty and emissions). Going to use ONLY for data logging to see if car runs too lean.
