Under seat sub?
Has anyone done this on the camaro? Im looking for a cheap system to bring the lows out and nothing fancy and wanted to see if its possible to put a shallow 10" under the passenger or driver seat. All comments and ideas are welcomed.

I can't imagine there would be enough space...just get a box from subhump (made to fit perfectly in the camaro trunk)...it'll sound better and can't be all that much more $$$ when it's all said and done.

you could just say forget the sub and upgrade the front and rear deck speakers and add an amp and you will get more mids.
i have some suggestions but not alot of people go with what i offer cause of price. but will say if you do research they are very good quality and amazing sound. www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm |

unfortunately those really shallow subs dont usually have the oomph to put out the lows your looking to add. They can help, but the reality is that there isnt enough air space or displacement to make one of those pre-fab shallows worth buying. I only mention that because I hate to see guys buy something based on marketing hype and be disappointed... and waste the money. sub bass typically takes a fair amount of space, which is usually why manufacturers do so poorly at subs... that needed space is hard to come by without sacrificing interior volume, trunk volume or a fair amount of custom work. your best bet is going to be something like the ******** side enclosure with an amp mount on the opposite side. it will be more expensive, but you wont be disappointed. Otherwise, its time to break out the fiberglass and/or MDF and make an enclosure.

thanks top down. I used to have two 12 inch kicker cvr on my last vehicle but im not looking for that much power. Well maybe haha. And i looked at the ******** enclosure. I seen they had one that could fit two 12 or 3 10 inch subs. Will the 3 10 inch subs hit harder and cleaner? Thanks for all the help im not all about the technical side i just like to be able to feel my bass

3 10's is a heck of a lot of bass... IMO, if your not a bass head, you wont need the 3-10/12 enclosure.
for most folks, a single 12 (********s large driver side enclosure) is enough... for those that dont get enough from a single 12, the dual 10/12 enclosure is usually more than enough. in my Tacoma I used to have 2 8" subs, in my Dodge ram I am putting in a single ported 10" sub... the Camaro will have a pair of sealed 10's with 600w (300 ea) in the dual ******** enclosure. you will be able to feel a single 12", especially if you get a good 12 and put some decent power to it (300w - 500w). you wont compete with the mini-trucks running full beds of subs, but you will be able to disturb the peace. IMO - the ******** large drivers side for a single 12 and the passenger side amp-rack is a great way to go. looks great, keeps everything up and out of the way. just get a good 12" sub and a solid 'real' amp (not pyramid, pyle, sony xplode, rockwood, etc...) and you will be happy with your purchase.

im actually working on a special lil box for the truck that uses 0 trunk space, since i dont have the spare tire i thought id use the space for something better, im working on a set up that will house an amp, the air pump and 2, 8's or could be fitted possibly for 2 10's right now i have a template on how i want it im trying to decide on material, carbon fiber, fiberglass, or something else

powered sub
Look at a Sound Ordinance B-8PT powered sub. Gives you more thump than you will expect and warmth and opens the sound up. 8" sub at 120 watts. 9-1/8" wide, 3-1/4" thick, 13-7/18" Long. It should fit under passenger seat. 2nd option. JL PowerWedge Max. Place in truck next to fender wall. 10" sub at 175watts.

jfr1 have you used the sound ordance subs , i typically used the fosgate punch subs in a small 8 sealed enclosure and get a nice tight sound, havent used the sound ordance ones yet, i know they have good pricing
