Insurance discounts with OnStar - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Anyone getting any insurance discounts because they have OnStar with the car?

I answered my own question. No, OnStar does not affect rates. My insurance guy said there are very minor rate differences of only a few dollars. It also does not matter whether you have OnStar enable or let it expire, same thing. They look at OnStar the same as a pro alarm/security system. They only work if they are working. Systems can be left unarmed and the car still stolen. The system can malfunction and the car still stolen. Insurance has no faith in these I guess?

...in Cali you get a discount if you have Lo-Jack installed on ur vehicle! So that's a plus for me since my rate is so high!

i got 15% off. it is with smart coverage

and the cheapest insurance i found

Belair Direct and SmartCoverage by GM offer it in Canada.

I have Belair.

$350 on it. Keep in mind it is different for everyone, but you should at least get the cost for it covered.
