I'm at my office, only about 20 minutes away from Les Stanford.

I just called them and the Camaro is still on display there until the end of the day.

I'm going down there to see it.

I dont think so... I believe the cars we're seeing now are the first run cars that will be the mix of captured test fleet and show cars... I'm fairly positive that these cars we're seeing now have gone down the assembly line, but I'm not sure if they were hand painted or robot painted... but I'm betting they're robot painted and are being used to test the robots' painting patterns and the line's fitment and build quality... I think that Zedder has even stated that a few cars have come down the line now, so this is probably one of them.

I think the Skys you are talking about are more along the lines of the IVER cars that were repainted to be show cars... and those, if I remember correctly, are estimated at $250,000 each to hand build... the LT/RS that was at the Texas State Fair is a prime example of these cars... it was an IVER that had a show car quality paintjob applied to it and had the inside cleaned up and redone to make it look good when you looked through the windows... looking closely at it, you'd see that there were several items that were not correct for the options that the car had.

Nope.... not the ones going around to the dealerships right now, all the ones coming off the line are being used for evaluation for production readyness....

I think I'm gonna have to drive all the way home to get my camera before I go down to the dealership.

My wife cannot come with me to see it and I wanted her to see it in person.

(I hope the dealership won't have a problem with me having my own Camaro photo shoot, lol)

and I would normally agree... but with this car being in Detroit, my guess is that this one was/is going to be a captured fleet car and the dealership just knew the right person to get it put on display for a few days... if the dealership had been somewhere like Dallas, Los Angeles or Atlanta, I'd definitely agree with you.

That IBM looks good. For a moment, I am tempted to change my black with silver rally stripes 2SS/RS to a IBM with silver rally stripes. That would be Dallas Cowboys colors and I am a big fan.

Ok, I have considered it and I think I will stick with black and silver stipes! Still looks good though. Definately my 2nd color choice.

They are building them at a slower rate, fine-tuning, etc., but that car was not hand-built. It came off the assembly line.

In regards to the Sky/Solstice...those had a lot of "hand building" even in the assembly plant due to a difficult build, issues getting it to production quickly, etc. You can imagine what that did to the loss of money per vehicle sold.
