My girlfriend has been in touch with the woman that was hit in the mini-van and he is a firefighter. He seemed to know the guys age, but that was all he said at this point. My car is sitting in the driveway right now, the whole rear end is piled up by my garbage bins.

Wheelman,
Take the car to Pete (Showstopper over on C5G) and he can fix it up for you. If you need more info PM me. Glad to hear you/GF are OK and that they caught that jackass that hit you. T.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same. Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different. I can't wait for my next Track fix. Wow, glad you're okay!
I would make him get you a new car and replenish all the mods.. don't want an accident sitting on the title. |

Dang at first I didn't believe you because I thought you said when he hit the minivan he flipped his car and then it landed upright and kept going. But now I see from the pic that the mini van was flipped.
What was this guy driving?? |

Holy crap man! Glad you are ok! Being shook up is very understandable. I could only imagine. I probably would have been shaking from all the rage I wanted to put on that guy. lol

The guy was driving a new-ish GMC Envoy.
I spoke with the police for awhile yesterday, and as I had assumed, he has no insurance, no license. He is facing multiple felony charges. I'm going to have to give statements to the state's attorneys. Time to get the ball rolling with the insurance, this is not going to be fun.

That's crazy!
For future reference for everyone on the forum, chasing someone who just hit you and run is never going to end well. If you have a passenger, your best bet is just to try and catch up and get their license plate number along with make/model of vehicle and then let the police sort it out, preferably back where the person originally hit you. I'm not saying anything is your fault at all, but by chasing him you may have inadvertently caused the second accident. Fortunately in this case, no one was seriously injured. I hope insurance can get everything sorted out for you.

With a 28k to 32k ACV Value in Mitchell programs (just checked) you should be good for a repair of the rear even if the rear rails are damaged. I would choose wisely on a repair facility and do some serious research on shops and the techs they use and have.
