Rear End Noise?

2013 2SS/1LE. has anyone ever experienced something like this? just started lastnight on my way home. drives fine, but you can hear a popping noise come from the back of the car. took the driveshaft out and can definitely tell it's coming from the rearend.

Put the back end up on jackstands and rotate by hand....If it's in the rear end, it should be obvious.

Something you do not want to be driving high speed doing.......... #1 driving in a car the rear end is about to grenade on and lock up the rear......from chunks of gear getting in the wrong place. You should have it towed to a dealer for warranty work.

well it's under warranty, hopefully. it is a bolt on / tune car. so I'm hoping they don't check and say that they can't warranty it because of that. and yes, I did have it towed to the dealership to have fixed. I will report back when I find out what it is.. for time being, I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze Turbo for a loaner.

Does it make that sound while driving?

I get clunky sounds coming from the rear sometimes changing gear cause the 6060 seems to be the most sensitive trans I've ever driven when it comes to matching revs.

Otherwise I don't ever notice anything

Have you done any mods that would directly affect the rear end?
If not, they pretty much have to honor the warranty.

Wouldn't they have to prove that your aftermarket parts are the cause for damage? Just because someone has a cai doesn't mean your warranty would be void. The same would apply for a tune.

I have not done anything that would directly affect the rear end. Longtubes, CAI, Exhaust, Tune, and Catch Can.

Im new here. But I just bought a 2013 2SS with 20,000miles and had clunking sounds coming from the rear end on Sunday. I initially thought it was a flat tire or loose lug. So I check out tires and everything was ok. Took it to dealer straight away.

The dealership said that it was a severely worn Axelshaft. probably from someone spinning a lot of donuts... I literally only have had the car for 24 hours and only drove it home the night before...

Still waiting to see if the warranty will cover it for me...

If you bought it from a dealership than it should be covered
