10% pulley, tune, cold air...expected gains?

This seems like a pretty basic starting point for a ZL1...I'm just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this setup. What were your gains either on the dyno or at the track? I already have the Rotofab so I'd like to see what the other 2 mods would gain.
Thanks in advance for any info you guys can give.

CAI + 10% Pulley + Tune will get you about 75 WHP over stock, right @JANNETTYRACING? Should be 560-590 depending on trans, dyno, and tune. (Rough guesses from memory).

This might be of interest to you: http://www.jreperformanceparts.com/g...p-package.html

It's a good starting foundation, a foundation I too will be adding to my car soon in addition to headers.

Thanks for the reply. I saw that on their site but I've got my doubts. I picked up 13 rwhp from the Rotofab. Somehow I don't see 2 lbs of boost along with a tune netting me another 60+ rwhp. My guess would be another 20 +-. Maybe the gains are more on a manual.

I had my mods done in stages - the 10% lower, Rotfab cai, and tune was the 1st phase for me. It did 548 RWHP, 538 RWTQ on a Dyno. I did not have a baseline run beforehand. Mine's an automatic.

The next step, added the 2.55 upper, SP long tube headers w/hi flow cats, ID850 injectors, and NGK plugs - dyno tuned. 583 RWHP, 602 RWTQ.

Those numbers definitely seem conservative, granted maybe they're accurate and we're just used to high typically Dynojet numbers. I think at your second step, most would have dynoed over 600 pretty easily, either the dyno or the tune...

How much boost do you get with a 2.55" and a 10%? I'm looking to do the same, but want to make sure it's safe.

Yeah, have to wonder which is more accurate.

Thinking out loud here...If the car has 580 true HP stock, should be at about 485-510 stock, picking up only ~49 WHP (If we use the middle number for stock WHP), seems light. On the other hand, 581 seems high, I'd think you'd need cat-less headers to achieve that.

I got rotofab, ported TB, 10% lower, and a tune at JDP. It pulled 588WHP on their dyno. It's hard to know how that compares to other cars in other locations on other dynos though.

It was a dyno that was set up for both, run back to back..

"The superflow system uses something called eddy brakes to use inertia against the rear drum to simulate the road. Dynojet does not. One of the arguments I have heard is that while the superflow may be a more realistic number of horsepower on the pavement its not very good for engine horsepower readings. Meaning there's another variable to calculate actual engine horsepower that is thrown into the mix and if a dyno is not properly calibrated this will only add to it. The thing that superflow has been doing lately is adding the "dyno jet" comparison to the software so customers can see the difference. But as I said if the original number is off due to calibration making additional calculations will only make it worse. Supposedly a rule of thumb has been to expect a 10 to 12 % lower reading on a properly calibrated superflow. "

I must say I'm a little surprised by some of your gains. If I picked up another 40 rwhp with just the pulley and a tune, I would be very happy. That would net me at least a solid .3 in the quarter. It would put me very close to the 10s with minimal mods.

Like I did after I installed my intake, this setup will be track tested and posted here. I still have my doubts so I'm only expecting a mid 11 teen. Anything quicker and I'll be more than satisfied.

Just did the Roto Fab CAI, 2.55 upper pulley and tune, manual 575rwhp 561rwtq...Very happy with the gains...From traffic light to light 1st and 2nd gear are useless...These simple bolt on's really woke the motor up and the super charger whines louder than my girl when I'm throttling her...lol

Those are good numbers, should be fun car. The 2.55 pulley is 18% though so it should make a bit more than the 10%, but I'm not too sure how much more.

His numbers are close just depends on the dyno and maybe a little rich in the tune and it's an auto...I'm looking at the 10% lower, injectors and tune and should pick up 40 to 50 hp with a manual...615 to 625 hp and would be satisfied with either...And I'll be done with mods...
