Need a solid tire recommendation

Just picked up my ZL1 this week, and it's an amazing machine. Just not too crazy about the tires that come on it, lots of slipping. I live in NJ and am looking for a tire that's good for the typical spirited driving use. I've read about nittos but I'm having a hard time finding them in stock sizes, and I also read a lot of hit or miss things on the M/T street comps. Michelin PSS tires are not gonna happen, 400+ on a single tire is a little ridiculous to me.

Welp. Also looking at the continental extreme contacts or whatever they're called, they keep popping up in searches

If you're looking for decent and cheap the Nitto NT 555 G2 might be a good consideration for you. Definitely not an ULTRA high performance tire, but pretty decent. And - they work in the cool temps, unlike those Goodyear F1 G2's that come on the ZL1 - they totally fit the "not worth snot till you get 'em hot" phrase. I've had a few friends with F1 G2's - not at all impressed. Good on track, pretty terrible on the street.

I had my eye on these but it seemed like sizing was an issue, ie nitto not making them in factory sizes? Maybe I have that confused with another model, I'll look

I run the Nittos and I went up to a 315 in the rear and 285 in the front because if I remember correctly they dont come in a 305 or no one had them in stock at the time. They work well when I need them to and they look really beefy on the car, they also are a great cheaper option that will do what its supposed to.

They're priced quite nicely, i can get two rears for around 480, much better than the 600 and change i was originally fearing. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah man no problem, they have treated me well for the 2 months ive had them on my car. It went from basic bolt ons to all the mods in my sig with those tires on and they still hook really well at my current power level. The 315 on the rear looks really wicked too.

Sheesh, and you got quite a bit of power. Definitely confident about these. Appreciate it!

Know that the Extreme Contact (not the DWS) and 555's are summer tires whereas the GeForce are all season. A consideration in NJ.

I'll be exploring a separate wheel setup for the colder months
