If you want to reset your ABS without a dealer

I pulled fuse 40 and fuse tapped it to install an underhood light on a switch. All went fine but, when I started the car, the ABS light, all the traction control lights, and the "Service Stabilitrak" message was on. I can't drive my car right now with the weather and I live on a mountain so it will be a while. I tried the reset in the manual for the stabilitrak, no dice. Unhooked battery for a couple hours, no dice. Searched a lot, couldn't find anything that would work. Finally, I pulled fuse 40 and fuse 43, then installed fuse 40 first, then installed fuse 43. IT WORKED! No more lights or message. So for anyone with an ABS light on and you don't have a problem or you have fixed your problem and still have the light, pull fuse 40 and 43, then put 40 back in first. If the message is still on when you start your car, I'm sure you haven't fixed the problem that is causing the message.

Why would you tap into your ABS fuse to create lighting for under your hood?

Seem your taking a big risk there...

Wanted something that has power all the time, even with key off. Not many things do in the underhood fuse box. It isn't a problem, I used a fuse tap that plugs in and has a dedicated fuse for that system and another fuse for the underhood lights.
