2012 vs 2010

All, have a 2010 2SS - 6 Speed Manual -LOVE IT. With that said, feedback on the 2012s is that they are clearly better. I have my eye on one now - Anything to share would be great. Besides HUD, Backup Camera and Suspension, is there anything else? Of course, this question does not relate to the ZL1 as that is in a class of its own.

Thanks,

Optimus

I waited as I wanted the new FE4 suspension and 45th pkg. However, if I was a 2010 owner I think I might just throw some mods at it and wait for next gen (2014+?) IMO.

Not worth it it me. New wheel, dash, and what you've mentioned is not enough to get rid of my car. (in fact I'll never get rid of mine ) Now a SECOND (ZL1) We'll see how the lottery comes out.

How much do you want a couple trinkets and less suspension than you could add yourself?

I say it's not worth it, unless yours is falling apart.

The app was only 2012? I love that feature and had assumed it was also in the 2011s. Have something to do w/the onstar hardware revision?

If you really like the little additions to the 12's, then upgrade.

This. I would wait until the next gen which will likely come out in 2 or 3 years, your 2010 is still pretty much brand new!

I went from a '10 2SS to a '12 2SS.

The BA radio sounds better, front center channel not overpowering. I can finally crank up the BA and have decent sound.

I really like the back up camera and warning chimes combined.

Dash looks nice.

Painted antenna looks nice.

No front strut clunk sounds nice.

Trans shifts a lot smoother, must have improved the synchros.

I think I like the '10 steering wheel better, this one feels small and oddly
off center.

The ambient light piping on the door panels seems better. I had IOM, and could only see the door panel light piping if the dash lights were turned way up making the radio way too bright. Now, I have a black interior with the blue piping, and it lights up nicely even when the dash is dimmed.

No gurgling noises in the '12 heater core.

Power pass seat - very nice.

HUD is nice.

Overall I love it!

Did you see the Thread that a company put out about the fe4 suspension? They said within 60 days they hope to offer the fe4 And fe5 suspension upgrade for the 10-11 ss models. Link to thread.

I think you would really have to push the car to notice any difference '10 to '12. To me they feel exactly the same. But I haven't pushed my '12 real hard into corners yet. The biggest difference I feel is the '12 front doesn't clunk like the struts are about to fall out.

The ground effects package is now body color.

45th anniversary edition is available if you like the stripes, wheels, and stiching
