So how did you get on with your first weekend, face hurt from grinning continuously?

Have you taken any new pics to post, or been too busy driving it?

Any plans for mods, any issues or questions we might help with?

well the grin factor is certainly there, no question. It looks magnificent to boot.

Regrettbly, the problem of the CEL occured again - I'm not overly concerned (yet!) as it's under warranty so they've got a chance to fix it, if it's not fixed by the time I get back from the States then I'll have to see if I can nominate my own garage to resolve the issue (step forward Trevor).

Plans?

- I'll be looking into US dismantlers for IOM door mirrors
- diablo/SCT/similar tuner (see above re. CEL)

- probably (at some point) QTP (or similar) cut-outs
- digital radio add-on
- remote start
- different/custom badging

- maybe lowered a little

no rush for most of it TBH

Don't know much about tuners but with the SCT that came with my Maggie I can check exactly what faults are showing. Saw in Aldi (I think) an OBD reader for £16. Are they car specific?

Door mirrors often come up on Ebay us, new or OEM will need paint, make sure you get heated, or there are those expensive Oracles https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...aro-mirror.htm

You will need to add a side repeater to pass mot, use front marker to avoid drilling fenders.

I believe UK versions don't have working markers, they are just all orange reflectors, don't know if wiring is present. US have red rear amber front.

Pete can supply noweeds Noweeds for £965

Later UK models have DAB, no provision to add to gen5 as far as I know unless unless aftermarket.

Factory remote start not on UK models? Modules, new fobs and programming required I believe....expensive job?

Many types of badging available, grille can have RS, SS, Bowtie or a blank, headrest covers and steering wheel with SS? etc can all be found.

Mine was lowered before importing, think either 1" of 1.25", make ride harsh over poor roads but looks and corners much better. I have 285.35.20 and 305.35.20 on ZL1 wheels which probably adds to the harsh ride on mine.
Will you be attending many shows? I have you on the Speedfest list, but there are plenty of other good yank shows?

J

I have the Oracles LED sidemarkers, look much better then OEM?

TBH John as much as I like the looks of the concept mirrors it's not happening at that price!

Remote start is a nice thing (especially on a hot/freezing day) and I suspect that there are quite a few ways to do this without getting a he-uge bill.

The dab'll likely have to be a parrot (or similar) but no rush.

The most problematical is likely to be the begging as I'd like to go semi custom

Unless i'm mistaken that car has lights in the mirrors already?
Easy to convert to indicators from marker lights, in fact they maybe already.
Really nice looking car, unusual RS badge.

it does - however it kinda looks like Dumbo, that said I may change my mind once I sit in a US spec one and can't see much out of the mirrors

The stock mirrors aren't the best but can't say I've had a problem using them, just spend a little time and angle them just right.
I do wish they folded in as I have limited space at home. :(
