Assuming you are driving the manual transmission properly then no this is definitely not normal or acceptable. This is not a lawnmower, it should never feel like it is going to stall or stall unless you cause it to do so with the way you operate the clutch.

+1 Need to find out if this is just user error or if something is really going wrong here. It shouldn't stall or even sound like it unless it is the way you are doing the clutch like Raptor said.

You should bring it in. I've killed mine 3 or 4 time, but it's because I didn't give it enough gas.
