i was under the same impression, that it was the flex modifier in the paint that made it not match exactly.

so... if the only reason the paint isnt a perfect match is because of it being painted in a different location? That is unacceptable. How is this deemed ok by GM? There has to be another reason, like a technical reason its different.
Location shouldnt matter. And why is it the same paint from the same manufacturer isnt the same color from different batches? The mixing should all be computer controlled so it there should be no technical reason for the paint color to not be the exact same shade no matter when it was made. Unless the paint industry just really isnt as advanced as i hoped they would be by now.

shame.

btw, the only color difference I see on my car is the fuel door in certain lighting conditions it pops out. Otherwise everything matches ok.

those were brutal, but it seems like were getting more complaints with new colours now like SW as well I know a few have gotten their front ends repainted to match and theyre happy campers now

You guys both have the hockey stripe which covers one of the main places that this paint difference shows up right on the front corners where the fender connects to the nose.

My paint has a slight tint change, depending on the light and angle you look at the car.
It's not worth messing around with, i'm afraid they might make it worse.

it is indeed because of the base material, plastic vs metal. at least in the process. most all of the cars have it to some extent, it's just harder to see on some.

revron is right! Mine is the same, all depends on the light. At one point mine had 3 shades: thus the reason it is called silver ice

I think I've seen it on mine too!

What's funny is that there's a separate thread about this for each color.

I had no idea the problem area was under the hockey stripes. I guess that explains why I didn't notice any difference

Sorry, also try looking at the same place at each rear corner where they connect. Especially around dusk (late afternoon) or dawn ( early morning).
