Boston Acoustics Worth it?
i sat in a 1ss today with just the standard sound system and it sounded pretty good. Is the BA system any better? like more bass?

bass is awful but i only have the stock one and i've never heard the boston. The stock camaro sound system is worse then my 2006 impala which is a bit sad imo.

I'm not too impressed with it but if you usually keep your radios stock then it might be worth it for you. I do like the head unit but the amp and speakers aren't stellar. I just put new speakers in the doors today which helped a lot for both bass and highs and I doubt I'll change anything else.
If you're considering upgrading the head unit to a double DIN down the road then save your bucks and get the base system. You should be able to find a 2SS on a lot somewhere to listen to it if you're not sure. |

Never heard the standard stereo but i like the boston stereo. For a $500 option it's not bad.

Get the BA system and then upgrade the amp. It will take a good system to a great system and you keep the stock look.

BA sucks! i'm sure it is better then the standard system but its pretty crappy.

We listened to both the BA and the stock system and choose the stock. Stock sounded better with better bass for sure.

I was wondering this too... Hrmm I find it very hard to believe that the stock system has a better sound than the BA system...

The peolple who think the BA system has no bass are either insane or don't know how to change their settings.
I've compared them both back to back, and the BA system is way better than the stock system. And no I'm not talking about a real aftermarket system. We are talking about stock factory systems. The Boston Acoustics system, is as good as a factory system gets. Some people will just never be satisfied.

I just did a ******** harness/jl xd400 amp conversion and all I can say is Holy Shot!! it is a way better stero now....bass and power is like night and day...it delete's the center channel too...the Ba speakers are good they just need alot more power to make them sound good...I have a 10 inch sub and amp ready to go in next...not sure I need it now?
