NGK TR55 3951

Looking for some insight into these, I have acquired a free set of NGK tr55 3951 copper plugs and was told they are fine for l99 or ls3, but i see they are .55 or so, i know my factory plugs are 040 so wondering if this bigger gap is going to cause an issue. car is full bolt on with a tune. thanks for any info

The tr55 are fine to use on any ls motor that is in the 5 heat range , .50-.55 gap should not cause any issues , can always tap them down to .40 if you wish

If your wondering the heat range go's up for every 100hp you add over stock , if your only bolt ons the 5 heat range is ok even cam cars do fine with 5 heat range

Frankly the problem with the coppers is they have to be changed out so often compared to the iridium …… I run tr6ix, and they can last a long time, with coppers …..meh …. the price would be a indicator or the life and fouling being a lot more...the car came with iridium..... though its brittle its very hard and can take a lot of heat and last a long time. SO don't gap iridium btw its a wire and breaks. free is a good price and...well theres a reason...….. good luck

I ran these plugs in my FBO Camaro, L99 for 6 years with no issues, only had to change them once in that time frame. Now I'm cammed and stalled with a big intake and use the 6's... Should be fine..
