Tachometer Inop

So, my tachometer stopped working...car has about 3700 miles on it. Took it to the dealership and they had to replace my whole instrument panel. Was just wondering if anyone out there had the same problem?

So far all is well with my Camaro, but my wife's 2004 Avalanche would show you going 35MPH setting still at a red light. Later the tach started doing crazy things. All this happened this year. Went to dealership and they said there was recall for the instrument/gauge cluster. They installed a new instrument cluster for no charge for parts and charged me just a small fee for installation. All is well now.
