Vacation Help!

Looking to go on vacation in November or December of 2011. I am looking for a decent, not crazy expensive place to go that:

1) Does not require a passport
2) Has a swim-up bar
3) Has where you can swim with dolphins
4) Is family friendly (my daughter will be 7)
5) Will be somewhat warm for that time of year

Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm thinking maybe the Florida Keys...probably Key West...just would like some good pointers on what resorts people recommend.

I don't know...most places for the requirements that you would like need a passport...

Check out Sea World Discovery Cove and Aquatica in Orlando FL. They have package deals and you can swim with the dolphins.

That sounds like Puerto Vallarta, but you need a passport and right now Mexico is that a very safe place to go on vacation. Catch a plane and go to Puerto Rico I hear they have some great beaches.

Cruise would be nice, but they typically require a passport...I won't be able to apply/get a passport because I will be in Afghanistan all year...will be getting back in November and want to go on vacation during my R&R leave. So I don't want to wait around for passport processing.

So, looking for some recommendations on Key West resorts or something like that if anyone has any. Thanks!!

Puerto Rico.
We took a cruise from there and went 3 days early to hang around.
Nice and warm, and lots to do. We plan on going back for 7-10 days next February.
Can't give you the names of any resorts, but bet you can find some by doing a search on a travel site.

Get your passport info sent in before you leave. It really isn't that hard for Active duty. I got mine right before I got out and it only took 6 weeks to get it. If you do the paperwork now then it will be waiting for you when you get back. Your daughter wont need one she can travel with you on your passport with a birth certificate.

It will really open up alot of options for you.

why are you against a passport? they are good for 10 years.
on a side note we just went to jamaica in april of last year and stayed at the riu ocho rios. all inclusive with 2 swim up bars and 5 miles from dolphin cove which we did go to do. seriously one of the best trips i have ever done. 2 people from florida all costs involved minus excursions away from the hotel was 2400.00 for 7 days that was all the alcohol you could consume as well as food. it was really awesome

Vacations

I just got back from 5 days in Key West. Stayed at the Westin Key West. Nice place, lots to do for adults and older kids, not sure about keeping a 7 year old occupied. Lots of boating, fishing, snorkeling, islands to explore, etc. I guess it would depend on the kid. Don't know about swimming with dolphins.

Call the Westin to explore ideas, I found them very helpful.
