Cam kit question...

Hi.

I’m doing preliminary research on what’s involved in putting in a cam and I have a few question.

You can only determine the pushrod length with the new cam installed. Then why do cam kits come with pushrods? I would think cam kits would come with everything but the pushrods. Am I missing something?

Will this press work for doing the trunnion upgrade?

Thanks.

If the base circle of the cam is the same as factory and no milling has been done, then the included pushrods should work fine. But measuring is still smart to do.

You can use a vice and some sockets to install the trunnions. It works the same.

I suggest to stick with stock rockers. Or get the caged needle bearings upgrade from a certain vendor. WS6.. or TSP rockers (1.72).

Replace your cam retainer plate with an older design and get regular bolts aka 'NOT recessed'. LS2 dog bone, new gm timing chain and 3bolts sprocket conversion (ls7 iirc). It's a 4x timing sprocket.
