problems with buying a 2010?

I have been in the market for a Camaro SS for a couple months now and have been looking at used ones and I'm just curious if there would be any issues with purchasing a 2010 vs a car that is not as old? I know its a solid platform and there haven't been any issues that are really major (unless I missed something...) but it is good to ask. I will be looking at two 2010's in the next two days (one at Rodgers Chevrolet which will be cool) so I just want to know if there's any problems with em.

Yes if I get a 2010 I gotta switch my user name...

I bought my '10 earlier this year. No real reason not to unless you have to have some of the minor changes (mylink, HUD, leather dash insert) I also think they changed the suspension a little bit in 12 or 13 I dont think it is anything to get worked up about though. If its a good deal go for it!

Yeah its a certified used 2010 with under 20k miles. So its a good deal but I will know if its worth it when I see it. Good to know there are no real issues.

I just got my 2011 ss a few weeks ago (still got the paper tag) with low miles also and I can't say I've had a single issue with it to complain about. I work at a dealership and I can also say we don't see "common" issues with em like we do with a lot of other cars. You'll be happy with it man!

Picked up a 10 2 months with 60k with 0 issues. And it's had a rough 2 months. Also installed 1 7/8 lt's and vararam and Magna flow cat back. It's a sweet ride. These have come a long way from my old 93 with opti-crap.

I just bought my 2010 2SS with 2,200 miles on it in May. Now have 6,000 on it.. No issues except the ticking sound that I just posted a thread about.. Really like the car but the exhaust could have a deeper muscle car sound...

Oh, just thought of one other thing.. Apparently, the 2010 had oil cooler leak problems (Google It)... I noticed that mine had an oil leak fixed in the first 1,000 miles.. Suppose to be simple to fix but might not be so cheap.. Check the car history for the one you buy...

I'd rather buy a 2013 if I was you, you get upgraded suspension, interior, electronics and lower miles.... But it's your choice

There were a few issues with some early '10s. Broken M6 transmission output shafts and loose spoilers come to mind. But I'm sure that those problems would have been taken care of by now.
The early '10 2SSs didn't get the back-up sensors.
The '11 2SSs got HUD.
The '12 SSs got an improved, FE4 vs FE3, suspension, a different steering wheel, power passenger seat, power door lock switches on the doors, and a leather faced dash.
The '12 2SSs got a rear back-up camera with a LCD display in the review mirror.
The '12 RSs got a body colored shark fin.
The '13s got My-Link, a new shift knob on manuals, and new wheels, but due to supply issues a lot of the 13s got the 10-12 wheels.
If I were starting over, I'd look for a '12 or '13 but I'm perfectly happy with my '10.

If anything, in about 20 years... if any of the regular Ss' are worth anything, I would think the original Ss' would be worth more?!?

IDK just a thought. I bought mine with 8300 miles 3 years ago.. now have 15,200

Is the FE4 suspension much of an upgrade? Ive only driven 13s and 14s nothing older than that. I was just curious about any mechanical issues that may be present since it was the first of the model year. I'll check for the oil leak and if the spoiler is loose. Then I'll see about the ergonomical stuff like the steering wheel, HUD, and that stuff.

Thanks for the advice so far. Anything else I should know please let me know about it.

The mylink is no big deal to me, I'd like the HUD, the back up sensors aren't much of a need as I'm a decent judge in my current car. Main options I'm looking for are just RS and the BA system for the ease of upgradability.

The AC on my 2010 crapped out 5 weeks after the 3/36,000 warranty expired. Still dealing with it actually, it's at Chevy right now. It's been recovered/recharged 3 times (totaling $500) already since last September when the problem first surfaced, and now it looks like the evaporator coil and the lines leading to it are bad. Chevy is telling me it'll cost about $1800!

The AC was never great in this car, probably the worst out of any car I've had, but it was blowing hot most recently, meanwhile it's 110 degrees outside!

As others have said any of the known issues would have reared their ugly head. You can't go wrong with a 2010 SS, I guess some of the early 3.6 may be questionable.

The 2010 is the most basic of all the years though even in 2SS trim.
