RS = Rally Sport

LT = Limited

LT used to mean Luxury Touring, I think it has just been degraded to a model designation just to show it has a little more equipment than an LS (Luxury Sport)

i was hoping it turn to be RS = Reality Snake , that would sounded cool. :P
but why does it mean Rally Sport, i don't see the connection 0.0

relates back to the first gens that had base models, RS, Z28 and SS models and the SS and Z28's had the option for an "RS package" which had hide away headlights and other odds and ins

I think it may have been a response to what the competition was doing at the time, Just a way to name an option package that included extras. today you have option packages with names like denali, LTZ, Touring, Limited, and whatever ford trys to call their overpriced junk.

Like I said before it used to mean that, now it is just the a base model designation for Chevy...
