I do not think 5 inch lips will work even more so with concave style. 4.5 was the largest I have seen on a stock setup.
That being said I personally do not like huge lips. Asanti(sp) have a black car with huge lips. It looks like a women that just got lip injections. Lol I think your more likely to bend a lip as well if you hit a pot hole when it is that wide vs. 3.5 inch. |

You can't just pick your lip sizes for a car. Lip depends on the forging profile used, as well as the wheel offset that fits your car. Many people always ask me for a certain sized lip, but don't realize that wheels aren't designed around the lip. Each car and wheel style dictates the actual lip size.
Savini offers a 5" lip, on a 22" wheel size. But, it won't have concave faces like those, it would be highly convex with the spokes going inward to create the deep lip. Tony

Hi Maro99,
Is sent you a PM stating what size lips we can do with the forging we will use. It will be the convex one like you saw on D2's car and it will give you the lip size you see on that car as well. Due to the large brakes on the SS you if you want a large lip you must use a forging that is not flat of concave. Thanks, Mitch |

I believe D2 has the biggest lip the will clear the Camaro SS with a 4.5" lip in the rear and I'm telling you that these offsets are dead on and bearly clear the brembos, my car. Without having the face of the wheel curve too much into the center and not flaring out the fenders I think D2 has the biggest lip.

Thanks for all of the opinions/help.. I have bought rims in the past but this will be my first set of custom 3 piece wheels, and my "wheel knowledge" is limited as you can tell lol.. Iconz said that they would be able to do a 1.5" lip in the front and will be going as wide as possible for the lip in the rear so that is what I went with.
Thanks again Quote:

Maro99, I'm very glad you liked Seddon's car. We measured and formulated those fitments to work specifically for the SS with maximum fitment.
If you saw Seddon's car and decided to go with that "style" of wheel, then I would strongly suggest you purchase the wheels that are on his car. All wheels are not the same, and you cannot simply just order something thats a copy of or looks "similar" to D2FORGED and get the same results. D2FORGED is what caught your attention, if you want the effect, you will need to order D2's. |

[QUOTE=Maro99;1560389]
I am talking with Iconz about purchasing some wheels that look similar to the ones in the pics of the D2 CV2's below, and was wondering what you guys think of having a 1.5" lip in the front and a a 5" lip for the rear on my SS.. Heres the pics on a lambo with the 1.5 and 5" lips, what do you think? Bro no offense but if you like D2 wheels and design which I think you do, the lambo and my car. Why go and have one company copy a design that another company has, there is no substitute for the real thing.
