Besides, GM insiders already debated over this issue and came to the conclusion that a comeback Camaro is best suited in first generation-inspired designs. Those designs fit better with current market trends and other popular cars, including the 300, Mustang, Charger, and Challenger. The look of an angular car with a fresh interior and classic lines is the trend of the day. The second generation had some curves that would require some significant changes to the front half of the car.

Let's not push GM designers. They're brilliant, and they can do a great job without any suggestions from us.
Actually I think GM designers would be well served to listen to enthusiasts more...and we would be more likely to get a vehicle that is closer to what we want.

The Mustang has been a top seller for over 40 years now. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Ford put out the Mustang years before the Camaro came along. As well, it has never (well...Mustang II could count) been taken out of production. And the next new Mustang will come out before the next new Camaro. So who's late? I like the Camaros better...I owned/loved a 3rd Gen Z-28...but fair is fair.

Well the quality on the new 2010 GT500 is "broke" and they need to get it right. Our cars have way to many issues for what they cost. The major rust issue underneath is only one of many problems we are seeing. Lets hope they get it solved before 2011. My car is one of the better ones and I have a major paint flaw on the bumper, mis matched air vents, a hood that does not align properly, heavy rust under the car, rear bumpers that do not line up on the left side and stick out from 1/16 to 1/8 inch while the right side is flush.

I could not recommend that anyone buy a GT500 right now after what I have seen.

Steve

That's real sad to hear. The build quality on my 2006 GT is top notch.

Take a look at these two photos of a brand new 2010 GT500 and a Camaro side by side and tell me which one is "Quality is Job one"

Remember you are looking at the top of the line flagship Shelby vs the Camaro not their top of the line Corvette.

If anyone thinks Ford is building a better car they are nuts.

Whoa horsey. I wouldn't be thrilled if my new car had issues either, but relatively speaking all of these are minor issues and easily fixed both on existing examples and on the assembly line. I am surprised that these issues made it through to production in the first place, and my guess is that heads will roll in Flatrock, but Mechanical quality is, thus far, top notch and Ford hasn't been letting quality issues slide of late. I will be shocked if a TSB isn't issued.

Let's wait and see if Ford rectifies the situation before we grill them on the barbie?

tired is to old as proven is to not broken, kind of like push rods...

either way you slice it, everything on a car is old, IRS has been around forever, live axles have been around for ever, push rods have been around for ever, and what is with these engines still using these silly pistons?

if it works it works right? technology being proven and used doesn't mean you should make it obsolete. you improve upon a solid design.
