To the OP and others with Auto Trans; Have you tried it in Manual/Sport mode (M+No Paddles)? Your AFM will never kick in and it may help you rule that out.

This is why in some cases we do suggest that you take your vehicle to another dealership to see if the other dealership can offer any insight into the problem with the vehicle and possibly give a different resolution. It doesn't work all the time but many times it has been a determining factor in positive outcomes. I hope that answers your question. I hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks, I'll get that from Josh the next time he calls.

THANKS AGAIN!!

Got my car back. No changes were made and was told again that this was normal. This can't be the case. GM had got to come up with a fix.

2ssRS. The numbers on my maf located just under the clip are,
"AFH70M-43A" on one side and "15865761" on the other. I didn't take it out to see if there were any on the inside.

Customer Svc. It almost feels like the timing is off slightly. Mine slowly gets better to the point where it runs fantastic. Then about a week after it seems to fix itself, I'll get a loud "gurgle" (for lack of a better term) out of the muffler on a cold start in the morning. That's when the hesitation and surging starts all over again. I only have 3k miles now, and a lifter has started tapping on all cold starts.

No, he just told me that my issue was open. We don't drive it much and it didn't hesitate the past couple of times we drove it.

The dealer and Gm stopped following up with me...

It has 2200 miles on it now. I hope it worked itself out...

GM has not been up front with the whole AFM issue. If I was told that when AFM enables and disables, I would some times feel hesitation, surging and exhaust noise and that would allow me to save 1 mile per gal (or ever how much) then I could have made a more informed decision as to weather I wanted to have a car with that system. I talked to salesman at 2 dealers about AFM and both said u would not notice the operation. Its been used on PUs for years. I was blind sided by this.

Because of this crap we loose 25HP, have a more complicated system and have to put up with hesitation, surging and exhaust noise. And to add to the insult we have to pay a 1185 premium.

Just put about 100 miles on mine and the hesitation is gone. Somehow it corrected itself.

BTW: I have a 2010 Silverado with AFM and it NEVER hesitates...

Did anyone get a resolution on this? I just drove home a new SS RS (put miles 31-76 on it) and noticed the surge during cruise was pretty bad. Almost like someone is slightly tapping on the breaks just slightly every few seconds.

Mine stopped hesitating!! Just stopped one day... According to my dealer they have had a couple of other owners experience the hesitation and it stopped for them also.

I have put about 2000 miles on it since it last hesitated.

They let me drive another SS on their lot and it did it as well...

I am having the same issue with my 2011. It is driving me nuts cause I didn't pay that much money for a car to run like this. It didn't do it at first when I bought it and then around 800 miles I really started to notice it. Mine does it at high and low speeds and is almost not enjoyable to drive. To get rid of it I have to give it more gas. I constantly use premium gas. The dealer I first took it into said it was a driveline droan and then later said it was the AFM and was normal operation. I don't understand how anyone could say this is normal operation for a $40k car. Sorry about my rants and raves just really tired of this issue as I am sure many of you are too.
