I recently added the cat-back Borla ATAK system to my 2SSRS M6. I got them from Maryland Speed, as they had the best price I found and free shipping. A local shop did the isntall for $80. It took them about an hour and they did a fantastic job. Everything fit nicely. Considering that I could see straight through the mufflers on the ATAK system, and that it replaces the stock resonators with and X-pipe, I expected it to be a little louder than what it ended up. I was really glad that I didn't go with the S-type or the Touring which are both quiter than the ATAK. I am very happy with the sound. Not too loud for long trips, no vibrations in the cabin, just a tiny bit more sound in the cabin when cruising, awesome rumble at startup, awesome sound when i rev. It does drone a little when lugging, but I don't like to lug a motor anyway. The ATAK is designed to minimize resonance on the Camaro, and it seems to me that Borla did a great job. I am very happy with my choice.

I checked Southern Car Parts and Maryland Speed and it seems to be $100 cheaper on the SCP website. Check it out here: http://www.southerncarparts.com/cama...em-p-2947.html
Even after shipping, from Atlanta to Oregon, their price was like $50 below Maryland Speeds. You should check to see if the Maryland Speed guys will refund you some money!

Maryland Speed was $1195, no tax and free shipping.

Tuning doesn't reduce the drone much, you're ears will still bleed.

You have to wonder just how much "R&D" these companies actually put into their exhausts. Clearly they focus on the exterior sound of the systems. Most of it is marketing BS, IMO.

I thought I would post this here since I have a Borla exhaust.

Here is what I have:
Kooks LT 1 7/8" catted headers
Borla catback touring exhaust
Cold Air Inductions intake
Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger

The supercharger did not change the exhaust note at all. I love my choice of the touring exhaust. No obnoxious drone. Throaty growl (due to the headers) at idle and throttle, but it's pretty quiet when cruising on the highway so I can hear my music or carry on a conversation. It is exactly what I was hoping for.

In the video, we couldn't go nuts and really take off hard. We had gone into a cemetery to shoot the video and the caretaker was giving us the evil eye. I don't think the residents would have cared.

No drone at all? That's what I need.

I notice a very subtle amount at about 1800 rpm. I mean very very subtle. I don't notice it at all anymore, but when I first got the exhaust I was listening for everything and noticed it a little. I am totally happy with my exhaust.

Thanks Darth...I'm trying to decide between the Corsa cat back and the Borla Touring. I hate giving up the 3" exhaust but the drone is taking the fun out of driving the car.

Has anyone put on the Borla Atak exhaust with Long Tube Headers? After seeing this video I think I will get rid of my miffler delete and buy the Atack system to go with my headers w/cats and x pipe. Since I have a x-pipe now can I just buy the axle back Atak and save money?

I would think long tube headers and ATAK would be obnoxiously loud.

Borla Touring cat-back (2 1/2"), ARH Long Tube Headers (1 7/8")
CAI Inc CAI, L99 to LS3 conversion, and Cam (219/223 115+3)

I have the ATAK system with Kooks LT headers. It's not really that loud until you open it up. At idle and regular driving it has a nice rumble, but nothing too obnoxious. Here are two videos I posted earlier in the thread. The first is the ATAK, and the second is a comparison between the ATAK and S-type.

I also have Kooks LT's and the Borla Touring. Like Darth mentioned there is a slight amount of drone between 1800-2000rpm on the highway, but it is not bad at all. I love how deep the exhaust sounds when you open it up!
