Go with 20% or darker or it is not even worth tinting.

I paid $275 for mine with a lifetime guaranty and a one time free replacement if I scratched one of the windows. I went with 15% and never have a problem with seeing at night.

I had mine done at FX Auto Tint in Markham. 35% sides and 20% rear ceramic
I can't remeber the price, but I highly recommend them. I've used them before and they do a clean job with lifetime warranty.

p.s. My pics don't show the tint. I have to take new pics this spring.

The law regarding window tint is vague (on the front side windows) in Ontario.
The police officer must be able to see you, in the front seats.

Put nothing on the front windsheild; unless you want it on the top 15 cm of it.
(or from the top to the AS-1 line...which ever is shorter)

The side (front if a sedan) door windows:
Tint places usually recommend 35%, as it still light enough to see into.

The rear windows (& back door windows if a sedan): As dark as you want them.
But you must have 2 functioning side view mirrors.

I have 35% tint on my front doors, & 5% limo tint on the rear doors & back window.

I had on my last car: 35% tint on my front doors & 20% tint on the rear doors & back window.
& wanted darker this time, in the back.

Mike,
Your car looks really good, and you can easily be seen, I know that from experience.

Unfortunately, less than 5% of the people on the road have "legal tint" according to the line above (bold print). This pisses me off because when you can't see the driver's face, you can't predict what he's going to do. If I ever were to be involved in a collision, and the other vehicle had deep tint, beyond clear view, I would sue the driver's a$$ off.

Interesting point Frank, I never thought about it in terms of an accident, but that is a great point. Always thought of Officer safety though thats for sure.
So is it safe to say 35% is legal on the sides?
I was hoping to go with 30% on the sides and 20% on the rear.

There is no 'legal' or 'illegal' limit for Tints. It's at Officer Discretion...

1.) 100% = Transparent
2.) 0 = Solid Black
3.) 5% = "Limo Tint"
4.) The 'ideal/safe/norm' = 35%

Officer Discretion.
A peace officer must be able to look through the window of the driver side car, while all windows are up, and determine the race and gender without any doubt for it to be determined ''legal''.

However, bare in mind that it is MUCH more difficult to see into a tinted car during the evening hours. Furthermore, your 'window tint' is reasonable grounds to stop you in hopes of finding more 'illegal'. So if you do decide to go below the 'norm' and opt for a darker tint understand that you may get more unwanted attention than you elected for.

** DESPITE ALL THIS **
I, personally... 20% all around. It looks absolutely bad ass in my opinion, and truly makes the car what it is. For that fact alone I wouldn't change it. * BUT * If you ask anyone on this forum, they will all tell you.. I drive with my windows down almost all the time... avoiding the unwanted attention.

Let's be honest.. from a police officers perspective when approaching a car in the middle of the night that you can't see in, would that not make you uncomfortable? (For this I would advise should you opt for the darker tints and you do get pulled over... drop all your windows, and hit the dome light... Who knows it may just get you out of it...)

I'll post a picture of mine in a moment..
