What mods do Camaro guys find are "hokey"?
I know mods on your Camaro's are a personal choice and I would never tell someone that their mod looks like crap. My definition of "hokey" is phony looking, over the top, maybe a little red neck. I attended the BBOMG in Oshawa this year and seen some incredible mods, I also seen some that made me scratch my head and ask why?
I seen an SS that had the engine compartment dressed out in stainless steel. I thought it looked great but while I was standing there admiring it, at least 5 people walked by and made a negative comment about it. When I seen it I thought "that is something I would like to do", but after hearing the comments I guess it wasn't a popular mod. Some of the wheels guys had on their cars were certainly not my taste but obviously it was something they wanted. Some of the engine cover art was amazing, hood liner art blew me away. I'm working with a guy to do a custom hood liner, is that a hokey mod? Dressing out your engine compartment in all stainless, is that a hokey mod? I'm sure there will be lots of opinions but I'm curious what you guys consider are hokey mods. Please don't rip on anyone's car specifically, I'm not looking to insult anyone. Russ |

There's only a handful of things I can think of off the top of my head. I really don't think there's many ways to make the camaro look fake/"hokey"
Connecting rods on a splitter if the car isn't gutted/full out race car. T2 "ports" that are really just a piece of tinted plastic, not an actual port. Brake Caliper Covers. (I haven't seen a good looking pair yet) Body kits that have 0.5" gaps between panels. "Boxed" cars (See: Donk) SS emblems on a v6 I'll update more if I think of any. |

Umm... In addition to the above... Any wheels 24" and above, excessive chrome, stick on air vents

I've seen lots of mods I don't really dig.
Some of them are really cool and look great but just not for me. Too loud or pronounced. Like a wrap or airbrushing. I can recognize when something is bad ass. Even though I wouldn't do it. That being said, I'm not a fan of lighting mods at all. Just do nothing for me. Mindz 'Blue Rush' door lighting is pretty cool though. |

Probably because he ran out of room. I don't know how you could look at that long enough to take a picture.

Well Its a local car here in my hometown. I hope if the guy is a member here , it doesn't piss him off. I just don't know why you would do something like that. Just be proud of what your Camaro is and not try to make it something it's not!

I have an LT, and had original plans of "converting" it to an RS, but with good style. Some people just apparently go overboard.
What mine was planned for, at least until I decided to go for a 1SS IOM. (still searching)
