Is this a tool or toy?

I know it is a tool but i want one so bad, but it would be more of a toy for me. Checking out what areas of the Camaro are hot.... I used the idea that i could save us money by finding the air leaks in the house to get the wife up to letting me buy one...... Then I might be able to see through her clothes too...

Those are pretty expensive for a Toy! $500 & up

Fluke has a Cheap one, but who knows how it compares

You can get a Laser Temperature Sensor for Cheap

Flir One Thermo Imaging Camera

I have a Flir One. It snaps on the back of my iPhone. It used a n app from the app store. I think I paid about $250. The thing I like about it is that it fits in your pocket. I've used it to find a bad plug wire on my 1st gen. Just look for the cooler header pipe. I recently used it after the install of my Hood Heat Extractor. I also plan to do some tests this summer with my cold air intake to measure the heat soak or not. I works really good and is easy to use.
Here is a video of my Heat Extractor.

It's not really a toy when you need it but can be fun. I've used it to find air leaks around windows and doors. Lack of insulation in walls, etc. And no, it can't see through clothes, but you can see hot spots on any surface...

You mean the X-Ray Glasses that they used to advertise in the back of MAD Magazine don't work?

Only if you had an imagination.
