If I go with the 18" corvette wheels should I still get the drag radials or the regular ET's. These would be used at the track only. Wondering tho if a regular slick would hook up to hard and break something?

interested in seeing opinions on this. need to figure out a decent rim tire combo for the shootout.

I had the new 305/45 18 MT Drag Rad's on my Trailblazer SS and managed to yank A wheel with them MANY TIMES at the track.

If you plan to use the tire ONLY on the drag strip then the wrinkle wall tire may be the best bet, if you plan to do a mixture of street and strip then the Drag Rad is the winner hands down.

I had a 305 ET street on my MS4 Z06 and they hooked up amazingly!

The ET DRAG, ET STREET and ET STREET RADIAL are 3 different tires, the DRAG is a full slick and not DOT approved, the ET Street is a DOT approved version of the ET DRAG and the ET Street radial is a normal drag radial

I run 255/50/16 ET Street Radials on my GTO and have cut 1.71 60's on them with no wheel spin.

I am going to buy them again when I need them, it is nice to be able to drive home from the track on them when I am too tired to swap them out.

I know the difference in the tires, what I was asking is if running a full slick tire with stock rear-end and suspension would cause problems if the tires were really hooking up. These will only be used at the track.

One note that you probably know:

ET Street and Street Radial max out with a 17" rim. Most 17" rims do not clear the Camaro brakes. The ET Street Radial II goes up to a P345/35R18 size.

If you hook up with any of these you have a high probability of toasting your rearend. At least the half shafts. The rear is an 8.6" with a 2 pinion diff.

thanks for the info. I looked on their website and noticed 17's were as big as they went, thought maybe that was just a partial listing
