Different strokes for different folks!! I don't like the GM splash guards. They're too bulky. That's why the RPI ones are called Stealth. They're not really visible unless you look for them.

Not even close. Good luck finding a set at Wal-Mart that fit like these. We spent 10+ hours getting the fitment right, with a custom bracket for mounting and no drilling. Find that at Wal-Mart!

I don't have pics yet, but just finished the install. It was fairly straight forward, but a few suggestions for RPI and tip for fellow installers....
For tools, the RPI website states that a screwdriver is included... what is actually included is a screwdriver bit- there's enough room up front to use with most screwdrivers that take bits. In the rear, with the wheels on, this provides a challenge. Not enough torque with fingers to loosen the screws. too deep/too close to the tire to use a stand alone T-20 torx bit. The best I could come up with was to put the T-20 torx bit into a 1/4 inch socket (I used a 3/8 drive for more reach) or like me, I have a torx bit socket set, so I used that on the ratchet. Installation was a bit differnet, because of the longer phillips screws. I ended up having to use my fingers with the 1/4 socket to get enough torque to tighten the screws. Not enough clearance for a ratchet. The L shaped bracket part didn't require anything special- though I thought about tightening the screws and then sticking the 'L' bracket in around the back of the splash guard, but didn't The Instructions were fine on the front two. The instructions for the rear were a worded a bit strangely, but with the car and pieces in front of me, I could figure it out as I went. The photocopied picture is a little hard to see... might see about either color or a line drawing version. I noticed that the 'L' brackets werent completely a 90 degree angle. meaning that I don't think the entire face of the tape is sticking to the splash guard. If it lets go, I will add a layer of 3M body molding tape to the 'L' bracket that sticks to the splash guard. I am a little leary of how well the rears will hold up with the skinny tube spacers. We'll have to see how it goes. If anything goes awry with them, I am thinking that a one piece spacer could be fashioned out of something (phenolic resin, plastic, etc) or even a wider individal spacer to give some more stability to the splash guard. The other thing that I think might help is a second 'L' bracket per side. But they do look good! |

You did it right, the ratchet is the way to work it. Shoot some pictures for us if you can, we'd love to see them on your Camaro!!

I just put these on. Here are my thoughts. You really need to remove the rear tires for the install. The tubes are too long for the top screws, but that is an easy fix. The "L" brackets don't work very well at all. Both sides are already off of the flaps. They are still stuck to the fender, but not the flaps. Not a big deal, but now their is a space. Their needs to be a better way to make these fit. The instructions for the rear instalation is not very clear but not too hard to figure out.
The look is great. You can't even tell they are on the car unless you are looking for them. |
