Z/28.R Racing Live Today...

The Continental Tire Race series will be racing today at 1:25 pm eastern and you can watch it here live on the Internet: http://www.fanschoice.tv/watch-live/imsa/tudor

I hope the Camaro teams do well today against the new GT350 Mustangs since the Z/28's have more balance of performance changes against them with the 3 straight wins in the series.

Just a little sand bagging by the Shelby teams with a totally new car and also B.O.P. adjustments against Team Camaro after 3 straight wins this year.

B.O.P.= Balance Of Performance; which can include intake restrictions, rpm limiters, raised minimum ride heights and also added weight to get a level playing field for the different types of cars if one make is too successful on the racetrack.

So I suspect we'll see BOP adjustments beyond the weight penalty given to the Shelbys after Mosport. Reminds me of when the Camaro was new and the Boss had to be hindered. Kinda.

Shelbys have a ways to go to catch up to all the restrictions put on the Z28s this season.

Maybe if they started as street cars...

JK

But if I remember correctly, at their maiden race, the BMW 200 —aptly named, as BMW M3s dominated the 2.5-hour event—the Camaros were off pace and slower than the leaders but fortunately they found the needed pace by the second race to take their first win. I think the sudden change in pace raised a few eyebrows. The Shelby also didn't win till second appearance but the race pace was there from the get go.

You're right, it's not over yet.

Stevenson has plenty more dirty tricks left to pull before Rum Bum gets even for their crap at Lime Rock

It was not intentional read on...

“What a shame for the team and the fans and really the drivers, that we weren’t able to battle there at the end with everybody,” said Team Manager and driver Matt Plumb. “I know it was not intentional and I’m sure the guys at Stevenson feel bad. So we’re going to move on and focus on the fact that we’ve been doing a really good job of getting the car in the right place at every track we go to.
