Heat/AC

I have the heater/ac fan off but I still have a light on for air flow direction. Is there any way of shutting that light off or is there always constant flow even with the fan off

...Just hit whatever button is lit, and any little flow will stop...

AFAIR it defaults to floor vents. I leave mine floor/windshield.
if you hit the recirculation button it will stop airflow through the vents. though it does reset itself every time the car is turned off.

I know these cars have safety features, but I never thought they'd be "suicide"-proof!...lol...

....I've never used re-circulation in any of my cars...lol...I'll have to give that a try as well...good tips...

you don't use it with the AC? works ten times better that way. with it on your cooling the air that is already in the car and much cooler than the outside air. you'll notice a significant drop in the temperature of the air coming out the vents with the recirc button on. in the winter you'll also get warm air faster that way, but not as pronounced as with the AC
