Cup Holder LED lighting

Well here's an install thanks to BMWDON's idea of LED lighting the cup holders. I bought the same billet cover (on eBay for about $65 delivered from Hitechcustom). I got the blue stick-on LEDs at Pep Boys for $13.

I thought I was on to connecting the LED power to the 4 pack gauge lights until I took apart the gauges and discovered they are all electronically controlled. Damn LANs .

So I just t-tapped power off the power outlet red and black wires. I mounted the LEDs to the console and the billet cover covers everything. Nice simple mod and effect. Thanks BMWDON.

I found these surface mounted LEDs and have them on order. They appear to be a little smaller than the ones from PepBoys.

http://www.oznium.com/prewired-surface-mount-led

It will be another ten days or so before they're in. Details would be great.

Thanks in advance for your help.....

Bill

Quite simple. The third picture shows it all. The LEDS I got at Pep Boys, I have one pointing about 45 degrees into the front opening and the other about 45 degrees into the rear opening. You have to drill a small hole (1/8") to get the wires under the console. I connected the wires to the power outlet red and black wires in the front of the consoles using T-taps. I used the 3M emblem tape to hold the billet piece down. You can get the 3M tape on eBay too.

The credit for this goes to BMWDON for the cool idea.
