Question if you have lowered your car..

Does it make it practically impossible to get over speed bumps and stuff? I'm guessing yes, but I hope I'm wrong and there is actually no difference at all.

No. The 5th gens got alot of ground clearance if you ask me. Underneath everything is tucked up real nicely compared to other cars. The nose/front lip of the car is pretty tall too and allows for some pretty aggressive lowering. I haven't scraped/bottomed out once with my KW coilovers and I have my car set pretty low.

Something to compare to: I don't know if you have any experience with the mustang scene, but these cars have alot better clearance than a SN95 car when lowered.

When in doubt, take stuff slow and at an angle so even if you hit you won't hurt anything.

Dropped on pedders XA and not a problem. The fronts are all the way down I take it easy over speed bumps of course but everything clears.

It all depends on how low you go, I am as low as you can go and yes if i go over a speed bumps i will scrap the car, but i am 2+ in the front and 2 1/2+ in the rear.

With my kit on, I hit most times and was very difficult to drive daily...now without the kit...not even a problem.

I'm lowered on KW coilovers...2 inches lower in the front and 2 1/2 in the rear.

One concern you might look at down the road is long tube headers...they will hang a tad lower than stock. Other than that, seems everything is tucked up under the car pretty good.

The bigger concern is the day you may need to be towed. Getting a tire lift underneath or being pulled onto a ramp truck will be difficult, without damage, if not impossible without removing the front fascia. Also, most garage lifts will be the same. Hard to get on or off without scraping. I've been thinking 1 inch, but am hesitant because I have it on a four post lift alot lately and the folks at the garage say I barely clear now...FYI

I went 1.25" front and back with the new Pedders Supercar coilovers. I can still load it in my trailer without any problems, if your lift is too steep you can always make some longer ramps. I think much lower and it would scrape on some inclined driveways but at my hieght it is fine. The ride actually feels like it should have from the factory, firm but not harsh.

I did the Eibach 1" Drop Springs and If I go slow over speed bums there is not an issue, if i go over it too fast, my transmission will bottom out and I can feel my shifter jump..

There will always be issues when you lower a vehicle with clearance. GM has a standard that applies to very vehicle they make EXCEPT the Corvette for this reason. Driving your lowered Camaro is no different than driving a Corvette. My car is slammed with 19" Forgeline wheels and Bridgestone RE-11 305/30/19s. I get around by watching my approach angles and accepting the fact that my ARH long tube headers and cats occasionally function as skid plates.
