The decel enleanment can be tuned out, but it not an option in the handhelds. You would have to buy a handheld that those with the shop editors can custom tune and upload to your handheld. I just push in on the clutch or crack the throttle slightly to reduce the popping. Just depends on where I'm at whether I want to hear it or how much.

I had my DFCO turned off in my tuning for LT's. Not a single pop any more. You do lose about 1 or 2 mpgs though.

The stock tuning shuts off the fuel on decel for mpgs. When it goes that lean, it's not the correct AFR in the engine to support combustion. So that last little bit of fuel goes out the exhaust unburned until it hits oxygne and pops. If you turn the fuel back on during decel, it won't pop like that.

You can mask it with huge mufflers like the factory does, or tune it out with the DFCO setting. Muffler delete and untuned will pop like crazy.

I love the sound, but if it bothers you it can be tuned out like they have said but it will cost you a few MPG's as that's why it happens in the first place. It burns up gas that might normally just be blown out and helps mileage in the process. To tell you the truth I purposely induce it while driving. I makes me

There is another tuning option. Keep DFCO....and the fuel mileage. Add 10* timing to DFCO lead-in table. Popping is greatly reduced.

Flowmaster Super 44s gives the decel popping a VERY nice deep bass rumble when it pops. You will like it. Still pops of course but it sounds so much better.

That definitely resolves the popping issue if you don't like it. If you're going to decelerate, either ride the clutch (bad for throw bearing) or shift into neutral. No more popping.
